What is different?
Life scientists sort plants and animals based on their features. How can you sort objects?
Objective: Students will make observations about objects. Then they will classify the objects in three different ways based on their properties.
Suggested materials: cup, book, eraser, calculator, ball, water, magnet, letters
Observing means looking closely at things.
Procedure:
1. Look at the objects. Make observations about the objects.
2. Place objects with similarities in the same group.
3. Rearrange the objects another way. Place them in different groups based on another similarity.
4. Rearrange the objects one more time. Place them in different groups based on another similarity.
