Backyard Bioblitz
This project was done for National Geographic Certification
This activity is for those students who have a backyard or a piece of a garden near the house.
1. Choose a place, where will you search: in your backyard, a field, a garden, or around your block.
2. In this activity, the goal is to count as many species as possible. You may take a mum or a dad to help you.
3. Take a phone or camera to take pictures/videos and a sheet of paper to write.
4. Start the bio blitz. For example, you may see a dog. You take a picture of it and write on paper: 1. dog. Then you see the cat. You take a picture and write 2. cat. Then you see a rose. You take a picture and write: 3.rose You need to take a picture of any living thing in that area - bugs, caterpillars, any plants you see and write what is it. If you don't know what it is just take a picture and we'll explore it later. Also, short videos of some things you've found with some words from you are highly appreciated.

It was very fun and I learn too many things I tried to capture a photo of a bird but they fly so fast that I couldn't catch them with my camera. Also, I saw a little butterfly but again I failed to capture a photo.
I did this activity twice , one At the day time the other when it starts getting darker
I enjoyed walking at the day in the garden watching the flowers and birds fly around , I had a chance to took photos that I share .. I also took my bird to enjoy the ride .. at night I had the chance to see the bat flying around
